Being Finished

Carolyn says, "I wish there were more time for this. I suppose however, that putting this thing up does not mean it's finished. In fact, in principle, it shouldn't ever be finished , yes? "

Nancy says, "Along the lines of this - last night I had an interesting experience. I am sure many of us have stories like this. But it was late, a Sat. night. I was frustrated with studying and decided to look around on the Web... where do I land, but my own essay on Kia's hypertext homepage. My heart was beating fast. I thought, I had no idea someone was pointing to an essay I wrote for class. I WASN'T FINISHED with the thoughts in the essay. It was stripped out of context."

Michael says, "Yes, I know this feeling, mail lists are always like this."

Carolyn says, "But isn't this also the situation anytime you speak publicly? As in art that is exhibited, or writing that is published? raising your hand in class?"

Nancy says, "How does one go back and erase the beginning of a statement? Especially because another comes flying by and you have a new thought."
