graceful air
I have spent years explaining my name to the Chinese as,
"NA, as in that from 'this and that',
(but with a woman on the side).
XI, as in west from 'east, west, south, north'.
Last name is LIN, as in two trees."
Not until this experimental writing project did I realize that NA means a graceful air! The modern dictionaries say that NA is just a phonetic character for a girl's name. But the etymologist, Dr. L. Wieger, S.J. says NA means graceful air!
