A Space Without A Goal
Part VIII
Primary reality is an elan vital comprehensible only by intuition.
Intuition is a "felt sense" of interconnectedness, of the Unknowable. Felt holography. Our sense of the whole situation.
Primary reality is a dimension of harmony.
The ontology of interconnectedness challenges just about everything we have been taught.
"Sit down before fact like a little child, and be prepared to give up every preconceived notion, follow humbly wherever and to whatever abysses Nature leads, or you shall learn nothing." - T. H. Huxley
Conventional ways of thinking encourage us to destructive forms of living with chaos.
Interconnectedness unites us.
Reason is the source of disorder.
We are part of an inexorable process of getting rid of the "discrepancy" between consciousness and thought.
"Clarity and passion together are needed." - David Bohm
"I think consciousness is part of the whole." - David Bohm
"We will only understand how strange the universe is when we realize how simple it is." - John Wheeler
Everthing's connected.
"And do not call it fixity,
where past and future are gathered.
Except for the point, the still point
There would be no dance, and there is only the dance."
- T.S. Eliot
"We are currently undergoing a paradigm shift in science - perhaps the greatest shift of its kind to date. It is for the first time that we have stumbled upon a comprehensive model for mystical experiences, which has the additional advantage of deriving from the forefront of contemporary physics." - Ken Wilber
We are all mystics.
A Space Without A Goal: an attempt at a proof of connected mind.
Shed yourself of pre-ordained truths. Be prepared to look stupid.
Use other people's thoughts.
Have a public mind.
All is flow. All is process.
"I like to think of the web as ordinary. Full of ordinary people with their everyday beauty and genius." - Annette Loudon
November issue, 1995, The Red Herring: "Mr. Gates presented his...vision of Microsoft Network, which he now describes as a "branded publishing community on the Internet." This evolution in strategy signifies Mr. Gates' realization that the Internet is the network, and that his original hope of building a private network, a la AOL, CompuServe, Prodigy, et al...has been completely abandoned."
Relinquish efforts to control the truth. We never had it in the first place.
Surrender to your intuition.
"Computers are interesting only because they generate little universes that will allow us to ask the fundamental and ancient philosophical questions of all time." - Kevin Kelly
Surrender. Look for surrender in others.
